At one time or another we all wept a tear of joy for Cinderella when she slid her pretty little foot into the glass slipper and fell into the arms of her Prince Charming forever.
But now, the more fashion conscious Disney-lovers among us who were lusting after the shoes rather than the prince, will have their dreams come true, thanks to Marc Jacobs.
The designer's latest creation, the Transparent Pump, is a modern day Cinderella glass slipper for the modern day princess.
A perfect shoe for spring, the Transparent Pump is in reality made from PVC making them more comfortable and thankfully, shatter proof.
And Mr Jacobs has given his already fanciful slippers an even lighter step with the addition of a lucite heel.
This season has seen a lot of lucite, from the likes of Chanel and Prada to Zara and Asos giving high style legitimacy to an aesthetic formerly associated with strippers and pole dancers.
This time last year when lucite first emerged on the runways, Racked noted the trend and admitted the look could be 'sweet, demure, fun, and not trashy at all (or at least, not Taylor Momsen trashy.)
In fact, so dainty are these creations, they wouldn't look out of place on the feet of a bride and some wedding blogs and message boards have already featured them.
Eager fashionistas can pick up a pair at New York-based online website, La Garconne.
Of course, while the shoes themselves are delicate and pretty, it is yet to be determined whether they'll suit just anybody.
With hot swollen feet that haven't been to the pedicure spa for a while, one imagines the scene to be less than a fairytale scenario.
But we imagine that anyone willing to shell out $595 for the see-through pumps will have already thought about the beauty preparation necessary to wear them.
We'll look forward to seeing whether this Spring's princesses choose to compliment the see-through pumps with brightly coloured toes or neutral, feminine paint.
Let's just hope there are no bunions in sight.
